Syringomyelia Support Group
Syringomyelia is a disorder in which a cyst or tubular cavity forms within the spinal cord. This cyst, called a syrinx, expands and elongates over time, destroying the center of the spinal cord resulting in pain, weakness, and stiffness in the back, shoulders, arms, or legs.
When I was 16, I had a shoulder injury. I suffered horrific pain for 25 years before I was finally referred to an orthopedic surgeon who said I had a detached labrum in my shoulder which caused a bone spur to form which caused the bursae above my rotator cuff to scar so much that it was scraping my rotator cuff.
Will pray for you. It's just like a domino effect. Pain loves company. My detached labrum just kept creating new friends.......the bone spur and the bursitis. Guess that's what happens when you wait a quarter of a century to have surgery. LOL.
