On Valentine’s Day, just a few days ago, finally I had had enough. I found my sociopath boyfriend’s inbox full of charming/romantic text messages to 3 different women. I confronted him on the cheating, but he proceeded to lie, confuse, and manipulate me. I had been with him for a year, and pathological lies were nothing new. I had had the worst semester of school last semester and I didn’t know why. It was my first time moving away from home, but I didn’t know why I had developed severe anxiety, panic attacks, separation anxiety, suicidal depression, and even developed an extreme case of borderline personality disorder. It wasn’t until later that I realized it wasn’t from school, or moving away, it was from him, my abuser. He stole from me, lied to me, abused me, used me, seduced me, and all together took my whole life and flipped it upside down. I stopped having a relationship with God, became completely isolated from everyone, developed bad habits of being dishonest, developed severe mental issues as well as physical illnesses. I was addicted to talking to him tho. When I was away from him, I felt even more anxious. I always felt like I bothered him tho when I talked to him. All of this devastation and destruction came from a man who claimed he wanted to marry me within the first two weeks we were together. But rather quickly, the glow in my eyes left, and things started to feel “off”. I stopped being as important to him. He started checking out other women, sizing them up, talking about sexual fantasies with them, talking about how he couldn’t take his eyes off their butts. I became background noise to him. All of the consistent disappointments and heartaches were mentally/physically destroying me. He had me believing it was all my fault tho. Now looking back, I feel completely abused. It’s only been about 3 days being away from him now, but every moment is difficult. I keep wanting to explain to him the destruction he’s done, and get him to apologize so we can fulfill all of the dreams/ fantasies we once had, but it’s not possible. Sociopaths do not have a conscience and never will. There isn’t any treatment for it either. They’re just born that way and will die that way.     :( I hope I can be strong enough to stay away from all of the pain and suffering. These men are dangerous! They reel you in with incredible love, affection, romance, promises, and immediate excitement for the potential of the relationship. So as women, we hold on to those promises throughout the entire relationship, even when they constantly con us. I consider myself pretty intelligent, and I didn’t know he had been cheating on me for a year... point being: These men are calculated, smart, deceitful, and highly skilled con men! They are also cruel monsters that continually give false hope to their victims. So sorry for all the other victims out there.  Thanks for listening. Prayers all around.
