I was raised Catholic and growing up I remember it was when I was 14 in conformation class I was 1st taught about purity culture. I was told to save myself for marriage and that was the key to a happy marriage. For years I knew that was not what I wanted for myself but as a result of church teachings I struggled with a lot or moral conflict about my sexuality and about wether to wait or do what I felt was right for me.
