I have never done this before, but I was sitting on my couch thinking of my dad and how much I missed him. He passed away unexpectedly this past December, and I miss him so much.

I'm not sure how this discussion group works or what to do. But I know I am not the only one out there who has lost someone they've loved with all their heart. I guess I thought reaching out to others who understand how I feel might somehow help me through this.

Hello, I am on the same boat. I lost my father on 1/28/2014, it was also my bday. I am an occasional active member here on daily strength.. But for other reasons. I joined this group also seeking support... I guess it's part of the grieving process. Perhaps the more we talk about it, the better we will feel.

I lost my father on 1/6/2014. I am so devastated. I just see a big black hole when thinking about the future. Not having him a part of my children’s events and future is unreal.
I know how you feel. Although death is supposed to be a part of life, it feels so unnatural

Hello SadHeart. My father passed away from cancer in 1975 and I still feel the loss. Father's Day started out bad, I lost my husband April 12, 2014 and seeing my children's loss I reflected back on the day my own father had passed. I take one day at a time with the loss of my husband just as I did when Dad passed away. My tears for Dad are tears of remembrance of the wonderful times we had and what a great father he was. I wish he had lived to see his grandchildren. I'm so sorry for the loss of your father. I know how deep the pain reaches into your soul.

Hi Sweetie, Blessings and prayers coming your way. I lost my dad Dec 5. He was so very important to me too. I'd basically given up my life to care for him for 3 years. I don't cry constantly now, but still grieve terribly. I try to keep as busy as,possible to ease the pain. God bless.

Hi my father passed away from cancer last February. He was my world and my all. I was devastated I spent the last 2 years 9 months caring for him keeping him company. It was so sad seeing him deteriorate. I was not there when he died in the hospital i went home in the afternoon. Yes it is DAMN hard and soul destroying. My advice is to take one day at a time. Cry as much as you want to. Scream, swear let all your emotions out. The grieving process is very long and hard one and you must look after yourself mentally, emotionally and physically.
