Welcome! This room is for CP/IP survivors. This room promotes fun, family, support and compassion. No Drug Seeking Posts or Promoting of such activities are allowed here. Please, No "F" Bomb--keep swearing to a bare minimum. No posts that are "fighting" with another person/group on this board or another.
I plan on being in the CP board too...but this, I HOPE...will be a primary place for the majority of us who want this to run smoother.
As for your appointment...ARRRGHHH W/C NEVER seems to do anything easy. I work for the State of Oregon, I have also worked for the State of California and the State of Idaho. In my meager experience, this is how things work for W/C
If they send you to a specialist, not only do they pay for it...but then they have to admit that more may be wrong with you than their standard "take a week off of work and take some Tylenol"
Eventually...most people give up because they are afraid to battle W/C and they are afraid to lose their job.
I am very glad that you are going to a specialist...please let us know what he says. Are you having an MRI or is this a Neurosurgeon? Have you had an MRI???? I don't recal that you have ever talked about your exact back issues.
I am hoping and praying that things go well for you Dave...let us know what happens. HUGS
I am going to a Spine and Scoliosis Specialist tomorrow, along with the fifteen pages of information they want.
In October 2008 I was stopped behind two other cars waiting to get on a business route of I-40. Next thing I know everything in my truck was flying around, including me. Fortunately I had my seat-belt on. The police report states the car that hit me from behind was doing 45MPH, but I think that they were going faster. That evening my wife took me to the ER and the doctor asked me how I felt. I said my neck hurts pretty bad. He said to me, "You ain't seen nothin' yet." North Carolina. He was right!!!!!
Physical therapy, acupuncture, radio frequency nerve ablations, TENS unit, medication. Ya'll know. I'll stop for now. I gotta go back to work.
David.

I hope you deal with wc effectively.
Don't forget to get a 2nd opinion and try conservative appraoches first. So many are surprised that surgery does not end their pain. Good pain management is a God-send though!
Let us know what happens...
With everything that you have gone through, I am happy to hear that HOPEFULLY tomorrow will bring some much needed answers and HELP! You deserve to be able to do the things you want, within reason that is ( no tight rope walking or demolition car driving for you LOL ) without being in excruciating, unbearable pain. It is just stupid. I have been through the W/C crap with my fiance when he broke his back, and I know how UN FUN that can be. I hope that you are not having many problems with them. Please keep us up to date and know that we are here if you need anything.
Hugs, Prayers, Support and Laughter,
Beck
I fought w/c for a long time. They think that they will wear you out and you'll give up. Prove them wrong. I kept telling my lawyer I can't afford to give up this will effect me the rest of my life and they are going to pay.
I've injured my neck and back 3 times and nothing ever showed up on a mri, but for one injury I walked bent over for 3 yrs. I still hurt in a serious way from these injuries.
I tell you these things so you keep pushing to get the care that you need. You have every right to see drs and get the proper care that you need.
Let us know how it goes tomorrow.
Big gentle hugs
David.
Hugs,
Theresa
