I really dont have any good advice for you since I really never have had any experience with the pain patch. I was put on it once and it never worked, but I hope you feel better. Im sure some of the great people here will be able to give you some great advice

oh Cherry - We just have no luck when it comes to meds. lol

I start the patch next week but until then all I have are Hugs.

What kind of patch is it, Butrans, Fentanyl????? I am on the Fentanyl patch right now and it started working about 24 hours after I put it on, so give it time to work, it usually takes a few hours for the medication to start working, so give it a chance.

It's Fentanyl. I was told I might get a rsh quickly because of my size, but all I got was clumsy and my pain is worse. I took my breakthrough meds...still no relief. They didn't tell me it could take 24 hours to work! That's why I'd rather ask questions here.

I typed a long answer and it got lost, grrr! Just go ahead and allow the patch to work, I am on the Fentanyl patch 100 Mcg's and my Doc put me on it two weeks ago, the first night I did not feel that the patch did anything, but I just took a break through pill, lay down with my ice packs, and went to sleep, the next day I felt the patch working, and it still works. One thing, you need to go to the pharmacy and get some water proof tape, put tape around the patch, so that way when you take a shower it will not fall off, I went to Walgreens and asked the pharmacist which one was best and he pointed to the one that I should buy and thats what I did.

I put the patch on the inside of my wrist so that way I can tape around the water proof tape, and that way it keeps on working and I keep on getting the pain relief that I need. Give the patch time to work.
