Are you saying you are feeling NO heat whatsoever or just not like you used to.
I do this a lot.
I can tell the water is hot but it is like I don't feel it in its full intensity.

Just watch out and yes.... you need to tell a doc if you are feeling nothing.

Sometimes these things come in and out, too.

I am pretty sure that I am not used to it. Because I even start low and work my way up and there is still no change and there will be a lot of steam so I know its hot and still nothing. I even asked my mom if she could feel something. She would say that its really hot. So I really don't know.

Is this all over your body or just in your hands?

I think its all over because when I am in the shower I really don't feel the heat there either. I just noticed the hands today because of doing dishes for my mom. We are having thanksgiving dinner today since mom has to work graveyard Thursday night and Friday morning for black Friday at wal-mart.

be sure you wear rubber gloves when doing dishes and have someone else feel the water temp until you get this figured out.

You need to call your dr first thing in the morning. If the receptionist says he/she is booked up ask to talk to the nurse and tell them what is going on. If this just doesn't happen go to the er.
I can't feel heat in alot of places, but every where? That is very unusual. If you feel anything else unusual tonight go to the er.

That is not right...not at all. I don't want to think "freak out" but, i definately say IMMEDIATELY in the am contact your doc like Irocket said and, if that doesn't work....head to the urgent care/er.

I've had problems telling hot/cold for a long time,I've burnt myself and didn't know it until,I saw the burn.
Mine is caused by Chemo/and neuropathy.
Be real careful until a Dr. can DX this right for you.

Hi there, this situation is an emergency IF (i dont wanna freak you out) but IF you have accending numbness (starting from your feet and traviling up your body ) and the onset was fast and the progression was fast (like withing the last 24 hrs it started with just your little toe being numb and now both hands and feet and up your legs to your kneese are numb and this has happend in the course of 6 hrs)

if its something LIKE the above go to the ER it could be an acute dangerouse condition like gilleon berrie sydrome or transverse myelitis or some sort of brain or spine infection


now say the numbess has been slowly progressing over the last few months a few things come to mind. maybe you have mixed connective disease? its a combo of RA , lupus, polymyositis, and sjorgens sydrome ( for the dx you need 3 outta 4) but my thought was maybe neuro lupus?

my other thought was if the numbness is just in your hands and feet maybe you have a touch of raynauds phnomenon , its very very common with RA


just be carefull cooking, doing dishes or anything that you can do that you might get burned.

i also have to check hands and feet for sores and cuts that havent healed in two weeks to make sure they aer not infected and what not, its a pain for sure cause i can't feel them!
