Most of you know that I've been struggling to keep working as a hairstylist though my body is in constant pain. I've really had no chice since I'm alone.
Along with horrible pain in my neck, upper back, hips and hands, my right shoulder has been hurting more and more. I'm right handed and that side takes a beating doing hair. I was finaly sent to an Orthopod (that's what my GP calls them) to have just the shoulder looked at.
He determined that the problem was my rotator cuff, but didn't think it was torn, yet. Probably tendonitis so shots and PT would be next.
I had an MRI and have been waiting at least 3 weeks for results. I finally called the office this afternoon and aked if they had the report. The receptionist read it to me! Not sure that was quite right, but she said it turns out my rotator cuff IS torn. She's going to call later this week with an appt. for me. No wonder my damned shoulder hurts so much when I'm working!
I'm guessing he didn't think it was torn because I could reach up (have to for work) and the pain is such a small part of my big picture that I guess I'm tougher than I thought.
So...I can't keep working with pain everywhere and I can't stop because...well, I just can't.
Does anyone know if torn rotator cuffs can heal wihout surgery? I'm so scared about my future.

I'm thinking that couldn't have helped. I finally stopped going because I was worse all over and insurance didn't cover it.
Another reason that is good to keep all records is; if you decide that you are going to file for social security disability, you are going to need ALL of your records, and if you have them all way in advance, all you need to do is look at the records, the dates, etc. and get the SSDI paper work going.
I hope that this will mean no surgery for you,

It made me feel like a wimp, but the people who made these comments don't have all the other issues I have. Of course, I don't share the rest of my problems on facebook!
I've got a lot of pain going on this morning and wondering how I'll get it under control for work. It's exhausting to say the least.

One lesson that I learn when I started in this pain journey, is that you DO NOT talk about your pain with normals.Normals really don't care (most), on how you are feeling, when they say hi, is just a pleasantry, they don't want you to go on and on about your health. So only talk about your pain with family if they understand, if not, nope.
Friends that are supportive, if they are not, nope. Talk about your pain here, your Doctor's office and that's it, it will save you a lot of heartache and it will keep you from hearing rude comments from people that don't get it.

I deleted the post, but not before my former neighbor made some wisecrack comment....grrr. I've got too much pain this morning to listen to those creeps.
I'm working on a plan to get out from under my big house and painful business, but kind of stuck for the moment.
