Today was Day 1 of my sugar abstinance. After eliminating cane sugar several months ago, I had been dabbling in coconut-sugar desserts...I found myself back to increasing quantities rather quickly. I also have been craving MORE sugar. And, a sugar- induced yeast infection has started along with itchy skin all over my body! These same symptoms occurred to help me realize my allergy to alcohol, so I am thankful for the body's clear direction. I am THANKFUL for it, but NOT HAPPY with having to AVOID SUGAR!!! And my doctor says I should also be careful of too much Stevia as it can cause sugar cravings. Thought I'd see if some other friends could use support on this journey! Thanks for reading
God bless you for reaching out! I've been on quite a journey as my sugar and other food eliminations were originally to help with my mental and emotional health. After much trial, I found that the changes I made in my diet did improve my mood about 40%... AND I LOST 63 POUNDS!! I've gained a few back just maintaining, and can't speak highly enough about eliminating cane sugar as the #1 offender. Then gluten! Please reach out anytime for support. Jolea
Thank you for your support, it's very inspiring to hear about your sugar free journey. I'm just on day 3 and a bit low mood but physically feel good. I think the low mood will be temporary and it's better than feeling nauseous and guilty after binging.
YOU CAN DO THIS!!
Over time and practice (baby steps), I am even able to go to special events without eating sugar--yesterday was a friend's wedding, and I skipped the BBQ sauce offered for the brisket, munched on cheese and olives instead of the sugary table snacks, and made iced coffee with stevia instead of desserts & cake. IT IS POSSIBLE TO ENJOY LIFE WITHOUT SUGAR!! HALLELUJAH
How are you doing? I am just starting a sugar free journey.
