Suboxone Support Group Community Group
This group was started in 2008. It started as a support group for those who took Suboxone to recover from opiate abuse. It still can be that type of group, but I feel I need to state the following: I still believe in Suboxone for opiate abuse, but firmly believe that it should only be a drug that should be prescribed by a doctor that is an addiction specialist. It is not...
Lets fast forward to now. 2015. I recently was released from federal prison in Feb 2015. I did 26 months due to some choices I made at that doctors office. The rest of the office staff is in prison, the major of our town because he owned the pharmacy, the doctor will be sentenced next week. I was the first one indicted and I got the lest amount of time to due my part in the situation.
I want to say this. I BELIEVE in Suboxone for opiate abuse. I DO NOT believe that it should be given for more than a 6 month period. I use to feel different, but now I realize that everyone was right. Suboxone did become a drug of abuse. You can get high from it. And, the withdraws from it are worse than the opiates I think. Maybe not so much the mental withdraws, but physically it can be bad. I am drug free and thank God that I am. I have no desire to go back to that life ever again. You hear "you just switched one drug for another", yes and no. Prescribed by the right doctor and under the right controlled situations I feel Suboxone can save lives. You just need a very good addiction specialist to dose you.
I am not sure how this group has come along.
I started it then life got bad.....then worse. I will gladly check here regularly and offer any support I can. I ran onto this site by accident going through old computer files. Maybe that is a good thing.
Let me look through my old files. I used a special weaning schedule for patients that worked really well. I will see if I can locate it.
