Our beloved family pet died and his loss has left a void. I do not think any of us were prepared for the grief to trigger emotions from death of loved ones past. He followed us around the house, needing to be near us. He did not care what we looked like or how much money we had.

We miss the way he made us feel special and somehow part of us dies. People and relationships can be so complicated. The thing I can't stand is when everyone stops talking about the loved one who died.

God knows all the people in my life who have died or broken away from me. He knows all the little details of the relationships and the loss. He knows my need to talk about them. God designed us to have memory. I talk to God about my loss, my heart, and my memories.

Everyone grieves differently, because everyone has their own personal relationship and different sets of circumstances. Sometimes we may feel as if we will be like a walking zombie, numb from all the parts of us that die, then God brings someone in our life that awakens something in us that feels like a relationship all its own. We hold on to memories and we constantly make new ones.
