Perhaps. your childhood. memories bring you more hurt than inspiration The voices. of your passed cursed you bilittled you ,ignored you at the time you thought such treatment was typical now you see it is not And now. you find yourself trying. to explain your past. Do you Rise above the past. and make a diffrence or do you. remain controlled by the past and make excuses ?

The past still has too much of a hold on me, and I need to move forward, and look for a job. I'll be seeking help for this soon. Thanks for posting this discussion topic, Tabby2010.

I think it's a grand idea to do your best to rise above it. In the end the only one that's being hurt by holding onto the hurt is the person that's holding on. If that makes any sense at all.
I was raped by my uncle and it took a really long time but I was finally able to forgive him and let it go. I didn't forgive him for him but for myself and it helped out a lot. So I think if we work at it then we can for sure rise above the potential pain of childhood.

I was a very angry woman, my auntie even said once she could not understand why 2 little girls went from hapy and bubbly to very miserable looking nit smiling or laughing much. My mom sufferedfrom mental illnes and was not treated.We suffered,my own kids suffered...
I was helped by a 12 step group,for adult victems of childhood abuse. It was like a light coming on, I was freed. I knew I was different inside but she could not seem to get out.
Yay god.
Itisnt just getting through but overcoming as a victor and it wasfinally understanding who I was in Christ that really did it for me.Loved and accepted.
I vebeen through some crappy stuff since but it isnt getting me down as I have assurance I am loved.
