Whew... My Urologist is causing my anxiety and panic to reach a new high!! 1st of all in my area he is not a Spina Bifida specialist but he is the only Urologist I can go to. I have Hydronephrosis which is fluid filled kidney but it is not from reflux. My Urologist knows I am hyper sensitive to tests involving invasive things such as dyes and such. Yesterday he had me do a nuclear medicine study that involved IV dye and Lasics (water pill) WOW is all i can say about that. I had so much trouble with the IV and then sitting in the CT tube for 1 hour while attempting to hold my bladder so the pics can be taken. I did it but I had such bad anxiety after 30 minutes the tech stopped the test so I could use the bathroom. Now i get a call from him that he wants me to do a video IV test... He KNOWS the dye used in that I am HIGHLY allergic to but he said not to worry cause I can and will be given prednisone and benadryl... I said I wouldn't do it because he just did a Dye test on me... why bother to do on you KNOW I am allergic to? Plus placing a camera in a place it does not belong is not my idea of a calm day! Any one else ever had a video dynamic study done? Any one ever allergic? He can't convince me to do this test just cause I can be given something for the reaction... Breathing is needed not an option! Last time I stopped breathing and that was way too much for my panic disorder. Thanks for listening to the venting!!
