The Garden....

In addition to all the damn "spring cleaning" it has also been "spring yard time".... This past week I have spent a lot of time outside getting stuff cleaned up, and getting the garden area under control. This years goodies are : Green Beans, Corn, Bell Pepper, Cucumbers, Pickling Cucumbers, White Onions, Purple Onions, Jalapeno, Chili Peppers, Lettuce, Watermelon, Strawberries, Blackberries, Tomatoes, Purple Sage, Sugar Herb, Rosemary, Spearmint, Sweet Basil, Chamomile, Chives ..... Then I got some Gladiolus bulbs I need to get in, and some pretty white "Snapdragons" to go around my cherub bird bath.....Yea, Snap is worn to a frazzle tonight!!! My damn hands are sore, and look like man hands ! All winter fingernail growth is gone! ..... But all the goodies will be delicious! This weekend Im going to put the boy to work cutting some stuff down and pulling some ivy off of the house. ....And it will be time to mow again ( actually it could use a mow now !) So that is what has been going on here.....Hoping everyone is doing good. I think about all of you , all of the time....every day!! And love you all so much!

This damn yard......ok, today was mowing front and back - I did the front, kid did the back :) Had to clean out all the flower beds along the front of the house and get them ready - then cleaned out the beds on the north side of the house. Damn, another dumpster cart FULL of nothing but leaves!!! Looking pretty springy around here. Hostas, ferns, and lillys are coming up. Cleaned the front porch again - took the vac to the the couches out there - sucked up a few spider webs around the windows :) Cleaned the tables out there. After all the work, had a little picnic on the front porch - watching the birds playing in the fountain. Dogwood tree has bloomed. Sat out there until 9PM . Will sleep good tonight ! Then coffee on the front porch in the morning!!! No school tomorrow, so I plan on sleeping in!

Yea for rainy days!! This rain is getting me off of the hook for outside work today ! That means I get to do inside things like laundry ! The boy and I actually got a lot done outside yesterday. According to the farmers almanac there are several good days for planting this coming week. You know, certain days are favorable for certain things - and according to it and where we are at with everything it will work out just right! There is also a favorable day for transplanting, which there are some things I need to move around a bit. There are several baby Rose of Sharons that I have found that I want to transplant to some strategic locations! Plus I am wanting to move the hostas to another location. Anybody want some baby maple trees, come and get them! They are sprouting up all over the place! Yea, we have been working our asses off out there getting everything under control. So working in the house today will be a nice break! ( Never thought in a million years I would hear myself say that LOL ) Hoping that everyone is having a springy day! Love you all !

Oh I wish I had a boy!!!! I can get Larry to do some projects but have to oversee. I am like you Snap only an old lady of 72.....lol So I dont get as much done but I work steady. Love to be outside working, my other work suffers. Fingernails? so embarrassed of them and my old skin bruises and cuts so my arms look horrible. Oh well, who cares?
Flower girl, your life and your daily care of your husband is exhausting I know. We all do what we can.

This is the one great thing about apartment living ~ no yardwork!

Have been really busy around here. This past weekend Kidlet and I went camping with the Cubs / Scouts. the weather wasn't great but the kids didn't seem to care for the most part. It rained, dropped below freezing and snowed. I had to shake snow off my tent Saturday night before I crawled in and had to bang it off in the morning before I crawled out. One tent collapsed but no one was sleeping in it (spring snow is very wet and heavy). We even had a little sunshine :)

Now it's back to work and what promises to be a very busy week.
