Speakeasy Whine Cellar Community Group
Some of the finest whine available !! This is a special place that I have created for specially selected friends to gather at. Like any other speakeasy ...carpet baggers, vagabonds, solicitors, scallywags, unsavory characters, scoundrels, and troublemakers, will be swiftly escorted out through the back door into the alley. -ZenobiaSnapDragon

Dh and his lady love are engaged, complete with a ring and a date. At first I was perfectly OK with it. Thought it was funny even but now I'm not sure what I'm feeling.

Oh Muffin Lou... you have so much on your mind as it is....its easy to understand how this could be some overload to think about. - Actually, Im kind of surprised myself that they have decided to do this so quickly! Things definitely do move on and change....who would have ever thought???
muffindog
Thanks for getting it Snap. It didn't surprise me and I've been expecting this for awhile. I know part of this is his way of dealing with everything and is a bandaid to some of the emotional stuff we've both gone through but damn...it's hard to see him with his future all sorted out and I'm still dealing with boxes of our crap and trying to decide what I want to be when I grow up.

Things will fall in place for you Muffin....gotta give it some time. Will be talking with you soon!

Wow... that was fast...too fast in my opinion. I'm sorry Muffin. I understand how you feel and like Snap said things will fall into place for you in time. But I can understand how, especially dealing with the BI life, it would be nice if things happened more quickly. You are right though, this is his way of dealing...he isn't really working through any of the emotions and that isn't really good in the long run for him or this poor sap he'll be marrying! But, look how far you have come...you're sorta in 'purgatory' on your way up to 'heaven'. I feel like I'm still in 'Hell' and that is where the unsuspecting wife-to-be will be soon! Hang in there!

Yea, it isn't easy dealing with these guys by any means!! ( Or taking care of them) People just don't understand what all it really entails, or what it can entail. It isn't quite the "normal" marriage situation by any means. My husband is still my husband, but he isn't like the man I married. And our marriage isn't the partnership, teamwork thing that it once was. Its more like I have another kid to take care of!!! Hell, if I would have wanted another kid to raise, I would have had another kid!! - But then again....there is that " In sickness and health" clause ( or Loophole LOL ). Don't get me wrong, I do love my husband.....but.....you all know the story!!! Duh! That is why we are all here to begin with! LOL .....Oh yeah.....It is absolutely not easy at all!! And for some people....well, you just have to do what you have to do! Most people cannot continue in this situation, I understand that!! I have not had to resort to "having to move on" But I can definitely understand why it is the best choice for some!! BI issues aside, some marriages don't work out for people anyway, therefore understandable for those who make that same tough decision!! - Damn it, there just isn't anything in this life that can just be easy!!! We are all pushed and pulled to the extreme.....for whatever purpose that serves! I guess if we didn't have the things to deal with that we have had to deal with , it would be some other unimaginable platter of crap!!! You know, another platter of crap coming right up! .....And truth is there are worse platters of crap out there to be had....so lets count our blessings and try to make sense of it all.....and just do the best we can and help each other through it all! Yea, that sounds like a plan to me!

For someone who is newly engaged, he sure doesn't look all that happy :( i don't think he'll ever find true happiness but I sure wish he could. As long as he expects stuff and other people to make him happy it won't happen. I am sad for both of them tonight.

The anniversary of the date that I moved out of our house is coming up and I'm feeling a bit wistful and nostalgic. Hope everyone is doing alright these days.

Hey Muffin Lou Lou!!! Yea, it is amazing just how damn fast a year can fly by ! Dates always get caught up in my head, I remember all kinds of dates of when certain things happen - but cant remember what in the hell Im supposed to be doing or where Im supposed to be next, without writing it down and double checking and triple checking! LOL All well here. Just been working in the yard a lot - until yesterdays thunderstorms, and last nights temperature drop! 2 days ago 80 degrees, today 40 degrees, tonight supposed to be in the 20s!!! Then it is supposed to warm up again! Have all the damn fireplaces going again, and all the vegetable plants for the garden all over the dining room! Another trip to the big city tomorrow for the EEG with the new neurologist. You know Im excited about that!! ..... And the new neighbors - believe it or not WE LIKE THEM !!! In fact my son is pretty good friends with their nephew - they have known each other for awhile from school. They are really nice and on the same page as us, so this is a good thing!!! Hell, the last two batches that have lived there have just been down right strange!!! ....Nothing else new here, just the same kind of regular chaos!!!
muffindog
um Snap??? Did you just call other people strange? There's gotta be some kind of irony in that LMFAO. Glad the new neighbours are working out.

Is it ironic that my 1st anniversary just happens to be Easter Sunday? Perhaps this is a sign that I need to embrace the new beginning I've been given. It feels weird that I'm struggling with this date given that the relief I have felt over the last year is indescribable but the year has been one big emotional roller coaster ride and I suppose it will continue to be for awhile. I wish I was able to shut off the worry but I'm not wired that way.
