ARe you in any type of counselling? It does work for some people, and perhaps it is something you may want to consider? Of course, it is just a suggestion. I'm new too. Not to anxiety though, sadly.
I've had SAD for almost 20 years. I only recently realised that I actually had a disorder though, before, I just took it for granted that the symptoms were a real part of me.
Well, now I am getting a grip on it and making improvements. I no longer go bright red while in the queue at the supermarket or avoid asking directions in the street. I do still feel awkward in social situations but not as much.
At the risk of sounding like I am a member of Dr Richards' PR team I am going to plug his SA solution once again. I recommend following Dr. Thomas A. Richards - Overcoming Social Anxiety Audio Series. It has helped me and I think it can help anyone with SAD.
