Social Anxiety Community Group
Social Anxiety is a term used to describe an experience of anxiety (emotional discomfort, fear, apprehension or worry) regarding social situations and being negatively evaluated by other people. Be kind, considerate to all members & help support each other. Please join us, you don’t have to feel alone anymore!
If you are looking for other socialization opportunities, consider taking a community college class or taking a workshop in writing or performance art or whatever you're into. Find a band you like that plays around locally and consistently go to their shows, for a DJ night that where you enjoy the music they play and can become part of a small local community.
If your anxiety or area prevents this, which I know limit mine even though I live in a big city, I have PTSD and bad anxiety esp. social anxiety. i go out rarely, when it's an occasion, and try to stay only a short time. Even just dipping into a social pool with all of the chaos and trepidation that has is fun for a short amount of time.
Another option for meeting people and getting social interactions which i find extremely helpful is the Internet. DS is a great resource. You could start a Twitter, I've met a lot of nice people on Twitter who are long distance Internet friends but in my life Internet friends are important too. you could go on Facebook and like and comment on old people from your past's posts to reignite dialogue which can feel really good to do when you feel lonely.
