I had this happening every night, now when I take my evoxac, I take potassium about an hour later, and the muscle tightening ans spasms have stopped.

Occasionally I have muscle cramps in my legs, but more often I have something like restless legs in my lower legs. My husband says that my legs jerk a lot during the night.

Yes I have this also. Rheumy says I have Fibro along with Sjogren's so he gave me a script for Flexeril to take before bedtime. Just got the script today, so not sure if it will help or not..we shall see. Take care...Mary

Hi Janda! I experience this in my hands/wrists and in the sides of my face daily. The burning is horrible and constant sometimes. Mine does not seem to go away when I move though. I'm going to the Dr. next week. I'll share any relieve ideas that may come my way! Take care everyone.

I have restless legs too. But I also wake up with some really bad leg cramps that occasionally move down into my feet. My doctor tested my Vitamin D level. She said the a LOT of patients with sjogren's syndrome have a low Vit D. level. Vit. D is necessary for the body to absorb calcium. Most people worry about this with their bones, but calcium and magnesium are very important with muscles too, and cramping can happen with low calcium levels.
Vitamin D is a fat soluble vitamin so a blood level is a good idea before adding it to your vitamin/supplement regimen in large amounts. Plus, if you blood level is very low, an over the counter amount won't be enough.

My legs go dead at night and twitchy so I have to sleep with one bent up on a pillow. It helps but ruins the sex life ha ha!!!

I also had leg pain and tingles at night , my dr increased my neurontin and it seems to have helped a little.

I have been using Ivory soap in my bed for several years now and have not had a problem with either RLS or night cramps since I started using it. I put it under the fitted sheet on top of the mattress cover and make sure that both of my legs are touching the soap somewhere below the knees. A co-worker told me about it along time ago and I didn't do it until I was having a particularly bad night and said oh what the hell, I'll give it a try and now I would not be without it. Of course the other things are important also potassium, etc. It is at least worth a try. I keep two bars in my bed at all times.
