Sjogren's syndrome is an autoimmune disorder in which immune cells attack and destroy the exocrine glands that produce tears and saliva. It also associated with rheumatic disorders such as rheumatoid arthritis, and it is rheumatoid factor positive in 90 percent of cases.
Now that I know that it's a symptom of SS I understand why my body reacts to the heat and the cold. Any extreme and it's like an electric streak through my spine.
I'm in Texas so the heat really got me this summer. We usually have beautiful autumns but this one has been really wet. We had sun for just a few hours yesterday. I can feel the next cold front in my bones already. Ouch.
Michigan offers a breath taking fall foliage show though. I would tolerate the cold for a day or 2 just to see it!
(it's almost like menopause)
