Sjogren's Syndrome Support Group
Sjogren's syndrome is an autoimmune disorder in which immune cells attack and destroy the exocrine glands that produce tears and saliva. It also associated with rheumatic disorders such as rheumatoid arthritis, and it is rheumatoid factor positive in 90 percent of cases.
As far as I know, I don''t have any other autoimune desease.Mostly what I know about Sjogrens, I've learned by googling or by reading the comments on thease discussions. My doctor seems to be avoiding conversations about it after I had a positive test for it. Although he did put me on Plaquneil when I kept complaining about stiffness. And told me to be sure and get my eyes checked every six months.
I do have restless leg syndrome. I've tried a few medications that help a lot. Lately though, I have been taking extra calcium and magnesium supplements. I think that the article I read had potassium supplements, but I didn't feel safe adding those unless my doctor found a low potassium level. My level is good, so I just left those off. I think the rls is better even if not gone completely
Good luck!
