Yes, I have this too. It's from the edema, peripheral neuropathy, and vascular damage. There may be some other reasons too, but you're on the right track. I've seen others who have the same thing, for the same reasons I listed. I wish there was a way of it going away, but I'm afraid there here to stay. I hope this was helpful...Take care. :)

does this present as bruises on your legs? I'm beside myself with achey shins, unexplained bruising anf restless legs. My gp thinks its vascular and linked to sjogrens but my rheumy says my bloods are normal and not offered any further explaination

I do seem to bruise easily also. I'm pretty sure, my vascular disorder came when I got Sjogren's. I remember that horrific pain and swelling of my lower legs, ankles and feet --- the deep pitting, etc. But I do believe they're related...since it all started together. I hope this helps. Take care.

I did notice one bruise on my thigh that I am not sure how it got there. It wasn't in a placa that I would have bumped on a table or anything. I don't really seem to bruise easily and the purplish discoloration to my lower legs does not really look like bruises, more just a dicoloration to both shins. My skin is very sensitive to the touch in that area and there is a lot of edema as well.

I had a flare-uup of what sounds like this last spring and summer. Especially when I travelled by air, I would get horrible edema, and dark red/purplish blotches on my lower legs/ankles. I didn't have pain with it, though. I'd had a small surgical incision on my lower leg, and because of the inflammation it wouldn't heal. My Rheumatologist told me I had Vasculitis, specifically, Leucocytoclastic Vasculitis. I had to be on Predinisone for a few months. My leg is now healed, I'm off the Prednisone. I'm taking Plaquenil and Azathioprine (Imuran). My advice? See your rheumy. Take a picture of your legs at their worst. I have a ton of photos on my phone, and they really helped my doctors figure out what was going on. Hugs to you.
