Has anyone had a problem refilling their Plaquenil generic prescription? I requested a refill for mine and my doctors office sent me an email saying that Hydroxychloroquine was currently off the market. So I googled it and it seems that there is a major shortage and the price is going sky high. I had no idea as I usually get a 90 day supply and had no warning that it wouldn't be available. I'd actually like to stop taking it but I've tried and got so stiff that I can hardly move. I'm really stiff when I am still for awhile and when I get up in the middle of the night and in the morning. I can't imagine how stiff I'll be without it. But there may not be a choice. I also take Meloxicam and when she put it on my refill list, it looked like it would only be refilled for 30 days with no refills. I usually get a 90 day supply for it too.

I am in the uk and got my prescription yesterday no problem at all, it was for a generic hydroxychloroquine made be I think TEVA or something like that. No mention of a shortage here

I went by my pharmacy yesterday and he said he hadn't heard of any problem and that he had plenty. I called the lady who calls in the refills at my doctor's office this morning. LOL. She said that she got that medication mixed up with another one that is spelled a lot like Hydroxychloroquine , that she must have had "a brain fart". Excuse that reference, please but that's what she told me. She said that she would call it in right away. Oh well. Now I'm wondering if there will be a difference in cost sense she did cause me to google the shortage and there actually were a lot of comments about it and that the cost had doubled or tripled for some. Strange. I'll pick it up tomorrow. Will let you know what happens. With my Part D plan, it's been $21 for a three month supply.

There is a shortage on Chloroquine Sulphate (generic for Aralen). They just stopped making it May 2015. I'm allergic to Plaquenil.

I am now ordering online from Canada.

I'm in Oregon and there is a shortage. I was on it for about one year then changed to methotrexate. Luckily I had to change medication anyway. I couldn't survive without a little pain medication, but I've got many other things as well. I've recently been using cbd tincture and it seems to be helping! My goal get better so I can work again!

I ran into the same problem w/ a shortage of plaquenil / generic.
The cost went up to $211 for a month's supply. Ridiculous.
So I googled pharmacies and started getting it for less but now that I am on Humira, the Abbvie / Humira Protection plan pays for it at $5 a month.
