I started Plaquenil 2 days ago and both nights I have had night terrors with vivid loud sounds and scary visions. It got so bad I had to make my cat cuddle with me (which was totally fine with him lol)

Also I am kinda nauseated and only when I go hours and hours without eating do I get very hungry. I haven't been eating as much as usual.

Are these just the initial effects of a new med being introduced to my body? Will they get better or worse? Any similar experiences?

I've been on Plaquenil a year now with no side effects. It actually helps with the fatigue after 6-8 wks. Maybe you should eat something with it.

I recommend that you check with your doctor if none of this was occurring before Plaquenil. You can also do a search on side affects and adverse reactions to the medication. You might get some good info that way.

I couldn't take it as I got severe itching which took days to completely stop. I tried twice with the same reaction and gave up. You may not be having an allergic reactions but it could be an adverse reaction. Check it out with your doc and do some of your own research also. Good luck.

I didn't have bad dreams that I remember but I got very sick to my stomach for awhile but it did get better and eatingsomething with it does help as well or it did for me. Good luck I hope u get it all sorted out

I do eat with it but I feel that's the only times I eat. Other times I'm either forcing myself or just can't force myself. I spoke to the nurse she said the side effects are normal and will subside.

I've been on plaquenil since January and still have crazy dreams! Very vivid, intense dreams or nightmares. My rheumie says its common. The nausea went away very quickly for me, probably in a few weeks.
