Sjogren's syndrome is an autoimmune disorder in which immune cells attack and destroy the exocrine glands that produce tears and saliva. It also associated with rheumatic disorders such as rheumatoid arthritis, and it is rheumatoid factor positive in 90 percent of cases.
I'm curious to hear from anyone on methotrexate for arthritis associated with sjogrens. I've been on plaquenil and mobic for 7 months with (maybe) little improvement, but my quality of life is similar to an arthritic 70 year old. My doc assures me it's not RA because my CrP and anti-CCP are normal BUT I suffer every day from the arthritis anyway so ......... If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck..........

I'm not going to be of much help here...I've never taken methotexrate before. I do have Inflammatory arthritis, and like you my RA #'s were normal but my SE rate was high.
I do take Plaquenil, and Plaquenil can take several months to kick in. It took me about 6-8 months to get the full benefit, and I've heard it takes some people up to a year.
The only thing I know about Methotrexate is that it is used in the treatment of autoimmune disorders, but I do not know if it is specifically used for pain associated with arthritis.
Not sure if anyone else here has had any experience with Methotrexate or not...
If you take the med, I'd be interested if you find it effective, and if it relieves any other symptoms typically associated with Sjogren's
