I have these, as my doctor told me. My hands look like I am 90, very dry, severely dry, and my finger tips crack very deep, and they do not heal well, a deep crack last months, its terrible. Very painful, and I sleep with cotton gloves and bag balm, but I still get new cracks constantly, like daily. little and big ones, and its so damn frustrating. My doctor put me on Evoxac and said it may not only help my terribly dry mouth but my skin. When he told me I had Mechanic Hands I thought it was like a joke, but then I realized its a real medical term. I am worried that it seems to be linked alot of times with lung disease. I did have bacterial pneumonia for almost 8 weeks, I could not shake it, and thats then my hands transformed into these horrible painful dried up cracked hands. I do not see they are getting any better, or healing the cracks, and I would love to hear from anyone else that has this.
