Sjogren's Syndrome Support Group
Sjogren's syndrome is an autoimmune disorder in which immune cells attack and destroy the exocrine glands that produce tears and saliva. It also associated with rheumatic disorders such as rheumatoid arthritis, and it is rheumatoid factor positive in 90 percent of cases.
However, I was just diagnosed last week with Sjogrens, so I am now wondering if I really have IBS or is it complications from the auto immune disease.
The reason why I question this is because nothing I try helps: probiotics, miralax, PPI (prescription) healthy eating, and very high fiber makes it worse. I even tried Gluten free (and I don't have Celiac disease/intolerance). My digestive system is a mess, and I don't have food triggers either.
I don't know if my info helps at all, but know you are not alone!!!
