Sjogren's syndrome is an autoimmune disorder in which immune cells attack and destroy the exocrine glands that produce tears and saliva. It also associated with rheumatic disorders such as rheumatoid arthritis, and it is rheumatoid factor positive in 90 percent of cases.
I had uti symptoms for a week(never had this before) and I took a Uricalm(OTC) and it went away. When I went to the doc(took awhile to get in) he said there was blood in my urine. We have retested twice in 6 weeks and it is still there but I have no UTI symptoms.
He tried to give me a tricyclic anti depress. for treatment and I researched and found it was in with the family of Amyitripline(spelling) and I had hallucinations about 15 yrs ago with that; so I turned down the med. he now wants to schedule me for a cyscopy test.
Can anyone tell me how that goes and should I choose to be asleep? Thanks for your time

Why does he want to do cyscopy if they already know you have I/C? Unless they want to rule out something more nefarious than inflammation (i/c).
You don't have to answer me, but I'd sure be asking them that question before consenting.
Granted....i had a terrible experience with this.
My doc thinks any woman over 40 who has ever smoked(I quit 20yrs. ago) has a risk of bladder cancer; so he wants to rule that out(I'm 63)
Any other advice is appreciated.
