I like Thera Tears, the individual vials. I use as often as needed because they don't contain preservatives, but I have tear duct plugs also. The plugs are kind of expensive to have inserted initially and not everyone can tolerate them, but that was my alternative to Restasis.

One thing you may want to try is put a warm compress on your eyes once a day. Then rub your eye lids top and bottom by the lashes. The warm compress opens up the oil glands and rubbing them releases the oil. This is what my eye doc said to do. I do use restasis twice a day. Good luck to you.

I use OTC Refresh Tears. My Doctor recommended it.

I haven't tried this yet but found it interesting. Apparently, Dr. Toyos is making great strides in treatment of dry eyes. I'm using Systane Balance several times a day. I have Restasis but it burns really bad and every time I start using it I get an infection and have to stop.
Does anyone have a success story with Restasis?

My eye doctor's favorite (and mine) is Oasis Tears Plus. They're in individual doses, but I use each one twice. They're more expensive than some of the others (and I have to order them online or get them through my eye doctor), but my eyes feel hydrated for a longer time than with other drops. I carry Systane Balance in my purse in case I need eyedrops on the go because they're in a squeeze bottle and easier to carry. I also use Restasis.

Thank you guys.As for the individual doses do you use them more than once?I would think its ok to use them within the same day.Its a waste to discard the rest when I usually need one drop for each eye so I keep them and reuse them later on.If Im at home I keep them in the fridge but if I go out I wrap them in a paper towel and put them in my cosmetic bag to take them with me.I think its ok.

My doctors have told me to use the preservative free - which means "single" dose (but i use them twice). Brand doesn't matter.

At night I use ointment. It is very soothing and would use it all day but it blurs vision.

was just recommended by my doc. You use it twice a day with regular tear drops as needed. It has an oil in it but the blurrieness only lasts a minute or two. Other brands have also come out recently but he gave me a free sample so I will stick with this until it doesnt help any more. I know how frustrating it is to buy so many different drops that dont help and then you feel you wasted money which makes it more frustrating. And you almost have to beg the drs. for samples. Sorry but once I start I have to vent.

My eye doctor told me to use Refresh because there was no alcohol in them. He said I could use them as often as I like but I never use them as much as I should. I wait until I cannot stand the blurriness anymore. Not a good thing.

During the day I use Candor Vision Hylo Gel. It has no preservatives and comes in an easy to use multiple use sterile container. This is the best day use drop I've found so far (lubricates while not blurring vision). I use them about every two hours.

The best I have used are eye drops make from the plasma in my blood. They are expensive and you have to find a compounding pharmacy that will do them, but I can't use Restasis .and a lot of other eye drops irritate my eyes.

YES, Restasis has returned tears to my left eye -not fully but much better my right eye is still dry but somewhat better.

I use a few different kinds for various reasons.
Night time I use gel and goggles especially in summer months when A/C dries me out. Also keep humidity at 60% min.....in your home.

I use Alcon-tears naturale free for daily use. For reading- I use Bausch and Lomb -rejuvenation- the oils they use in drops is what causes the blurriness but also protects more. I've used them all....also my eye doctor seems to always have FREE Restasis people return because they cannot use it - so ask. Just check the dates.

Where can I get these Soothe drops? Sounds like what I'm looking for!
