Does anyone use Plaquenil ?

I started generic plaquenil mid-may. I feel good but wonder if I will be able to cut the dose from 200 mg. twice a day and how long I have to be on it. Or if i can just take it when neccesary. My doctor is in the process of being absorbed into another medical group and is hard to reach for now.

This type of medication has to be taken everyday at 200mg twice a day. According to my rheumy it does not help at a lower dose and you must take it everyday to work.

I've taken plaquenil for many years. My rheumie cut me back to 200mg from 400 per day. My fatigue and achy joints, muscles and bones gradually came back. New rheumie put me back on 400mg daily and all is better.

Updating. I gradually dropped down to 1/2 of a 200 mg pill in the morning and a full pill in the evening. I was doing pretty well so gradually went to just an evening pill. That did not work at all so I went back to 1/2 in a.m. and full p.m. I did have to get used to it again as the increased dose made me dizzy. My symptoms are tolerable. That is to say I am not symptom free so I take an occasional pain pill, use pain creams, eye drops, sip water or lemon ginger tea. I saw my rheumy last Thursday and she was alright with what I am doing.
I can't use things with artificial sweeteners (diarrhea or headache) so I very sparingly use pure organic glycerine on my teeth and partial at night.
