cracked painful tongue

Have suffer with sore throats (sinus?) but now my tongue is cracked & painful. I've tried the Benadryl & Mallox trick but it doesn't seem to help except when I'm holding the mixture in my mouth. Is there something I'm missing? It also seems that the more my tongue hurts the more I'll bite it accidentally which makes it hurt even more. I'd appreciate any ideas. Thanks.

Mine has been cracked and blistered they turn to little ulcers since Nov. I think it's getting better and it starts up again but it is also accompanied by being very sick and I am under tr more stress than normal. If u find something let me know. I have been brushing cost off and it is bleeding pretty bad even though I am being gentle.Tj

Please check with your doc, but I will tell you what helps me with my mouth ulcers. I dry the area off and then use a Qtip with hydrogen peroxide. Let it dry...looks silly but I fan it dry! This usually helps mine start healing overnight. Don't swallow the HP!! Best Wishes.

Thanks I'll try the hydrogen peroxide. I do use Choraseptic lozenges occasionally & even have put on benzocaine when I've been desperate. They sell it for tooth ache pain.
I've been avoiding brushing my tongue & have tried a lot of different toothpastes. I only use a tiny amount of toothpaste and think I'm just going to try baking soda next.
