Sjogren's Syndrome Support Group
Sjogren's syndrome is an autoimmune disorder in which immune cells attack and destroy the exocrine glands that produce tears and saliva. It also associated with rheumatic disorders such as rheumatoid arthritis, and it is rheumatoid factor positive in 90 percent of cases.

I was diagnosed with Sjogrens for 8 yrs, then my old rheumy retired and the 2 new rheumies who took over had rediagnosed me with sicca syndrome because my symptoms did not entire fit the profile. I hope in a few years time, my rheumy will tell me that I don't fit the lupus profile. I've told my rheumy that but she said that I was deluded.
We should all do research on diets. I've looked at a couple of sources and they recommend multivitamins and foods high with antioxidants. The oxidation and radical theory states that the radicals released in oxidative processes during inflammatory stages, would damage organs and tissues in the body. If you take multivitamins e.g B complex and foods with antioxidants, then these entities will sequester radicals and prevent them from damaging our normal cells and tissues.
I also switch to gluten free foods and I feel great because there is less inflammation and I feel a little smarter.
Enough with the crazy science, as long as you are happy and feeling well, these are all that matter. Take care Rose, and be happy.
