Sjogren's syndrome is an autoimmune disorder in which immune cells attack and destroy the exocrine glands that produce tears and saliva. It also associated with rheumatic disorders such as rheumatoid arthritis, and it is rheumatoid factor positive in 90 percent of cases.

Hello i am new here and i am also from australia! I just recently got diagnosed with ss eventhough i am only 21, do you know if there are any centres here like in america?

Hi I live in Sydney. I have had ss for years but was diagnosed about 2 years ago.
I don' think there is anything like this site in Australia. I have searched a lot & this is really good. It is good to know how people manage ss. I joined the support group in Australia called TASSA. The Aus ss assoc. but most of what i have got from them is reprints from books I have
The obvious difference is with refferals to doctors which is different in USA. but it is still reaaly good. I hope your symptoms are'nt too bad at the moment.
Keep your goal of teaching in France!!. .

Hello Jenna!

Sorry for the late reply i am new to this whole forum format, I live in the meteorologically challenged city of Melbourne ^_^ And yes nursea49 my goal is well and truly alive i will be relocating to Nancy france for seven months from sept 19th....so trying to get all my prescriptions sorted out!
