Sjogren's Syndrome Support Group
Sjogren's syndrome is an autoimmune disorder in which immune cells attack and destroy the exocrine glands that produce tears and saliva. It also associated with rheumatic disorders such as rheumatoid arthritis, and it is rheumatoid factor positive in 90 percent of cases.
My eye doctor says that he feels strongly that I do have Sjogrens because of my extreme dry eye disease along with all my other symptoms. I have chronic pain, chronic fatigue, dry eyes and dry mouth with loss of many teeth, IBS, gastroparesis, dizziness, depression, diabetes, erectile dysfunction, insomnia and heat intolerance just to name a few.
I started all this with meningitis back in 2008 and have been diagnosed / misdiagnosed with MS, Lupus, Myasthenia Gravis, Fibro-Myalgia, Chronic Fatigue Syndrom and others.
I have an appointment in June with a new Rheumatologist who is supposed to be well versed in Sjogren's. I am hopeful that he will finally pin this down and give me a true diagnosis.
I'm in my mid fifties now and living (ha-ha) on Social Security Disability. I do feel some better now that I don't have to try and work every day at my busy pest control supervisor job. I do miss working as well as my customers and co-workers but this slower life is much better for me.
Anyway that's me hope to get to know you all as I already have questions for you.

I was finally diagnosed this year after many years of suffering from sooooo many symptoms. I had been to a lot of Doctors,and it took a highly regarded specialist in the field of Rheumatolgy to diagnosis me. I had to have a recommendation and references, then had to wait 4 months for the appointment.
I started a medication that is really starting to help, especially with the fatigue.
This forum can be a little slow at times, but I'm trying to get it going more.
