I never thought that Raynauds had anything to do with the Thyroid. I thought it was a condition unto itself. Sounds to me like you could have it. I am going to do some research because if it is not thyroid related than you could very well have it. I will let you know.

Yes, hypothyroidism can cause your body temperature to be lower than normal-- causing you to feel cold all the time. But Raynauds is a separate issue that can come on it's own or accompany autoimmune disorders. Your extremeties are affected-- fingers, toes, and yes, your nose.
The color doesn't have to be blue or purple to be Raynauds. It can be white or sometimes mine flares with barely a color difference.
I don't know why a doctor would tell you that Raynauds is dictated by a malfunctioning thyroid. More than likely, you are at the beginning stages of Raynauds.

Look up perniosis/chilblains. It's a vascular regulation problem easily treated with a vasodilatior. It's kinda like Raynaud's where the vasoconstriction and dilation cycle hyper responds to temp. Living in MI I have a mild case fall through spring where I can tell my palms and nail beds aren't as pink as usual but not an actual change to white and I'm unusually cold. In dead of winter I can develop a more severe case with the blistering and edema if I'm not careful about my exposure outside and then warm up too quickly. It isn't as touchy as Raynaud's - I can dig around in the freezer or refridgerator, get the mail etc without it flairing up.

I am also experiencing this, showers and heating blanket help me too. However, my right foot and right hand seem colder then the left ones; plus my nose is always cold too. I thought maybe it had to do with circulation or the nerves. I was also thinking neuropathy. I go back for my second appointment with my rheumatologist on Monday and I was going to ask him about.
