I have to write this story.I promised Frank.If he lived..he would have been 72.And my brother had it hard.People dont know his story..this is one of the reasons why tears are streaming down my face.I have to tell this.I have to get this over my case.Not even my therapist knows.My mother met my father,when she was 11 years.Daddy was 13.He used to play with my mothers brother.My mothers family--well..they had money.Mommy lived on a farm with several animals and there was a maid.But back then..things werent right and she wouldnt tell me why.She married my father at the age of 18.The date was August 3rd,1934.Daddy was 18 and they didnt have a lot of money,so they lived for two with my grandparents.But on 12/20/1935...my brother Frank was born.I mean almost born.Something happened to my brother at birth and back in 1935...there wasnt any advanced medical knowledge.My brother was born with the cord around his neck...and his lips were blue.Back then...the term was blue baby...and the doctors told my parents that there was no hope.They took Frank right away from mom and put him in an machine.The incubator was his home for several days.For awhile..it seemed like he wasnt going to make it..but then...something happened..he began to act like a baby and let out a loud cry! My brothers cried could be heard all over the hospital.He wasnt going to be in this machine! When he awoke..they let my mom hold him and when his eyes opened they were blue! The blue lips were gone!The doctors told my parents...Frank will have some brain damage..but they found nothing and he was a normal baby..He grew to love baseball,his cat midnight and his loved my other brother Stanley and me.Frank has always protected me and noone really knew about his coming into the world.I am going to write more about Frank..You see..I promised him and the nuns told me in 1958 at the age of 11..you cant break promises..Heres to you,Big E!
