Today we live in a very superficial socoiety.People today just do not know how to say the correct things at the correct time. And one of them is this. How can a friend or co worker help a person in grief? The first thing that you can do is not to ask any personal questions.Do not ask how the person died or how money he or she left. These subjects are personal and frankly,it is none of your business.Just let the person talk and if they cry do not and I mean do not say only babies cry and such.Crying releases a lot of stress and it is a natural thing to do.You must let them show their grief and it is their grief that will help heal them evengtually. The next thing that you can do is ask in a nice way if they are alright. After my father died,my mother began to act koo-koo and this happened exactly one week after he died. She began to do stupid things and one of the things that people do now is to neglect any financial matters and this is wrong.A friend that I graduated with and havent seen in years just lost her house. This happened recently and I found out that after her husband died..she wasnt paying the taxes or the bills because he always did this.Ladies.please do not have a joint account. There are no joint accounts in my house. You need your own money in case there is an emergency and you are not a child.Do you know that the bank notices your husband even if you withdraw 20.00? I am sorry dear..I wont have it.I have been managing my own money since I was 18 and I refuse to share it with anyone who makes more then me.If you are having this difficulty, contact the town that you are in.There is a low income rate that you can apply for and it can be paid off in 10 months.Never ask anyone for money now.Never.Always tell people that he or she passed on and leave it at that. But remember this..life is for the living and you must learn to do so.I gather all of the happy times that I had with Frank and I miss him everyday and he will never be replaced. And the last thing a person in grief can do is to learn new things and new skills.Take a class and meet new people and learn that certain people have got the same problems as you.And as a person in grief and I know this for a fact..Try to establish something that he or she did and you will feel better.Vader.
