Hoping to share positive results treating nerve pain from Shingles. Mine began 6 weeks ago now chronic nerve pain. love to hear any successful treatments and recovery time.
Have you had any success with your nerve pain. Is yours gone? What treatment did you use? I got shingles on my scalp at the end of January and am still having the itching and nerve pain 3 months later.
I'm into week 5 with Shingles. My first attack. I have previously had cancer/chemo and was pretty stressed so I think I succumbed to the virus. I caught it within 12 hours so went straight to Dr who put me on anti-viral drugs, then tramadol, and oxycodone. Which I didn't think had much effect, to be honest.
The one thing I found that helped with the pain was wearing a compression type singlet (my shingles was across my left side torso from back to front) I have worn a "slimming" type spandex top every day and every night. I found this really helps with managing the pain. It seems to numb/dull the tingling pain. I am still in pain, but I finally feel I am on the mend this week. Fingers crossed, it's not a false alarm.
I was diagnosed with Shingles a week ago when I broke out. I went back to work yesterday after a decent nights sleep. Today I stayed home because I awoke in tremendous pain. I'm taking gabapentin for the nerve pain, which works well, however it makes me sleepy. I've been very week.
I hope that you have found help!
