This group is for those people who find themselves married to a partner who has little or no interest in having a sexual relationship. This can be very painful for the other partner and leave them feeling rejected, unloved and unwanted. This is a group to provide support for this very painful and very private issue.

I am hopeful that writing about my situation will be helpful to heal my heart. I feel so ashamed and embarrassed that I cannot excite my husband. I have always tried to keep up my appearance and I have always been extremely supportive to him. He spends so much time on his bikes, motocycles and car maintenance but he will not take 15 minutes to read a book about physical intimacy in marriage. He blames his poor relationship with his mother and is not willing to explore his feelings. Any ideas on how to help him open up? He gets quite angry and shuts down every time I try to broach the subject.

Sorry, I wish I knew. My fiance is the same way though so at least you're not alone. She gets so upset and starts shouting any time I even try and talk to her about stuff like that. It's frustrating and I'm not sure what to do about it but leaving isnt really an option for me let's just say cause of reasons so I just do my best to cope with a life without intimacy. It sucks but I'm not sure what else to do.

I really hope things work out for you though and your husband is actually willing to sit down with you and listen to your side of things without losing his cool. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you! Good luck!

I am currently getting out of that type of situation... I'm not talkng about leaving my spouse either... What I'm trying is a 7 day sex challenge.... they have 30 day sex challenge as well. But maybe try that and see how it goes... also sex therapist or couples counseling if they are open to it works... if they don't want to go then you go and try out what they suggest

You have no reason to feel humiliated or ashamed. This is all on him. It’s nothing you’re doing or not doing. This is his problem, but it unfortunately sounds like his own ego, insecurities, and humiliation won’t allow him to search for a solution. I agree with Msjaye1, try counseling, and if he won’t go, then go for yourself.
