I'm bringing this up because I think that people who are in a support community for sex and porn addiction should at least be spared images like that WHILE THEY'RE IN THAT PARTICULAR COMMUNITY dealing with these issues. Actually, the answer is very, very simple and, after I write this out, I'll contact Doug to have him review this for his comments. All media outlets - broadcast, print, online, have advertising standards that the companies who advertise must adhere to. For example, you wouldn't want or expect to see a Johnny Walker Red Label ad on Saturday morning television, nor would you want or expect to see that ad on the Alcoholism community board. At best, its improper ad placement that just slipped by as a mistake, but if that advertiser knew what they were doing - putting a highly sexual commercial image on a board of people who are addicted to that kind of imagery - its insidious and evil. Doug, or whoever owns this site needs to do a better job in making sure that advertisers pay attention to what they're doing and that the owners of the site need to police the content better. That solution is simple and inexpensive and can and should be implemented immediately. That's what I want Doug to read and will alert him about.

A real reply to what you started from me? In all honesty, I thought that about a lot of things. Look at the login/home page for Daily Strength alone. You have a slender, young female being touched by numerous people with a high cut shirt showing her navel and baring skin. She's semi-attactive and has tight jeans on. But hey... what can I say? I'm a stomach/hips type of guy. Maybe it's only me that looks. Maybe it's menial to some of you to see such little flesh. But I often thought the same things, Dave...

I haven't seen it and I don't want to...and yeah I live in the "real world" and am bombarded all the time. I accept it because I have to.. but here? This particular group? Tacky. Do I think seeing the ad would jeopardize my sobriety? I would hope not but I can tell you...not that long ago...it might have. For others who knows? It's a weird disease one never knows what will trip us up and it can change from day to day. There are enough slippery places...I fully support Dave reaction. If removing it is possible, then that's what should happen. Keeping this board free of provocative ads is just common sense.

It's no different than walking into an AA meeting with a bottle of alcohol... it's ridiculous.

These ads are chosen through keywords in the topics and posts, and shown accordingly, but I'm sure there must be something they can do to filter the results.

As for what Stone said, it was quite foolish to say. Sure, things like that are out in the world, but think about it... there's temptation to buy alcohol in a store... but NOT a temptation to buy it at the rehab! That's the whole point, stone. It should be similar here.
