Sex / Pornography Addiction Support Group
Sexual addiction, also sometimes called sexual compulsion, is a form of psychological addiction to sexual intercourse and other sexual behavior.

I'm a sex addict, my acting out behaviors have included a long history of porn use, masterbation, affairs, exhibitionism, coercion, sexual assault, intimacy avoidance, crossdressing, sexting, and I wanted to know what has helped you all on your path to recovery and what helped you stay the course. In addition to this, I've also been diagnosed with antisocial personality disorder and I wanted to know if any of you have this as well and what treatment you've found to be effective for it.

Faith, anti depressants, and journaling have been my strongest tools. I still have my struggles but i try to do the best i can with these. Nothing drastic but it has helped change my course of thinking as will add seeing a therapist on a regular basis

Thank you so much for your reply! If you don't mind me asking, what do you find helpful to journal about specifically? I've tried antidepressants before but have always had poor side effects from the different ones that I've tried and they've left me feeling completely like I had no energy and no motivation to do anything at all.

I honestly journal about everything now. I try to make it a daily ritual. In the beginning i did it when i was feeling the urges. What i was feeling trying to understand what is leading me to feel that way etc but now i make it a habit.

Thanks for being so honest! Forget any stigma, counseling is really helpful! I've found the book The Purity Principle by Randy Alcorn to be really helpful for the sexual issues. As well as having another dude who will specifically ask about your struggles--daily, if needed.
