Sexual addiction, also sometimes called sexual compulsion, is a form of psychological addiction to sexual intercourse and other sexual behavior.
I slipped up badly the last couple days... I hadn't properly purged my phone of potential triggers, and one of the cam girls I used to pay for shows reached out to me. I'm working through deleting any apps or content on my phone and laptops that might tempt me to backslide again. It's tough because the content actually represents huge sums of cash spent... but I have to do it to beat this. And if I do beat it, I'll have no need for the content anyway.

I'm sorry to hear that you slipped up... try not to beat yourself up over it though. Beating an addiction like this is literally retraining and rewiring your brain and that takes time. Just don't give up and you'll get there!

Thank you for the encouragement. I've purged my phone, but haven't quite braved my laptop yet... that will require going to sites to deactivate accounts, and going through to delete my collection. That will involve some temptation

here is the thing ..you may never be strong enough to purge without being triggered by doing it BUT it should be done in the early stages of recovery.

Thank you both for the encouragement. I wanted to give an update. I've purged both of my laptops of porn and deleted my online accounts. I'm up to day 5 again, and hoping to make it permanent this time

good for you Daybyday1...i know purging everything was a very difficult process. When my husband went to rehab they actually really suggest 90 days with no internet access, along with the 90 day reboot. Now of course for most people that isnt an option as people need it to work etc. There are really good filters you can put on your phone/laptop but you need to get someone else to set the password. There are also wonderful accountability programs that help as well. Convenant Eyes is a good one, but there are many.
