Sexual addiction, also sometimes called sexual compulsion, is a form of psychological addiction to sexual intercourse and other sexual behavior.
Just wanted to let you know that I have been battling to stop my masturbation addiction.
I installed a porn blocker on my phone on September 11, uninstalled it today and relapsed.
Felt absolutely horrible & have finally opened up to my mother regarding everything that has been going on for the past 11 years or so.
It was very tough for me but turns out she's suspected something for sometime & it wasn't anywhere near as bad or traumatic to her as I thought it would be.
We think we're going to go to the doctor and see antidepressants will help.
We're also going to lock the phone in the cupboard at night, I'm thinking of asking her to put the key under her pillow.
Not planning on opening up to my dad since he's very legalistic and judgmental.
I tried making a makeshift male chastity device out of a toilet roll tube yesterday, modified it so I could just fit in & it would be uncomfortable during a erection & prevent masturbation, but in the middle of the night I relapsed, it's almost like it's worse when you're fighting it.
SUGGESTIONS TO ALL IN THE GROUP
Open up to friends and family about your addiction.
Join any support groups in your area or open up to friends who might be battling the same.
Set up porn blocking apps on your phone and PC, let your spouse / accountability partner set the settings, passwords, get notified if you attempt to uninstall it etc..
Consider getting a chastity device for yourself if you don't have self-control & give your spouse / accountability partner the key.
Sexual intimacy should only be between a husband and wife, as God intended it to be.
Let God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, things that are pure and lovely provide you with the love, pleasure and joy you need.
Love you all, we have to free ourselves from this shit, with the Lord's help we definitely will.
