reaching out is a good first step. Are you attending therapy? 12 step meetings?

therapy for a start. there have been a lot of factors in my life leading up to this. I hope the group and it's members can come together and overcome our addictions.

12 step meetings are a good way to overcome this addiction. Other sex/porn addicts in different levels of recovery are good support for you. This online group is okay BUT there are addicts on here that dont follow recovery, use triggering words, and some even looking for hook ups. If you arent comfortable to attend an actual in person group they have phone in meetings as well. Look up SA meetings or SAA meetings. The best way to right the wrongs is recovery and sobriety.

I would agree with Candycin but would encourage not just 12 step meetings but ones that focus not on sharing but on doing the steps. I recommend checking out SAAPP.org for a list of phone meetings. The Saturday morning meeting called the foundation meeting is a great way to start for someone new to this....you don't even have to speak - just call in and listen.

I am doing exactly the same thing. Going to groups and trying to share my story and starting to open up to others again.

The hardest part is telling the story to strangers but I guess that is just one more way to recovery. thank you everyone for giving some advice i would like to talk to people on here and learn their stories as well. Everyone has their moments of weakness. i hope over the next span of time we can all work on improving ourselves.
