I have been fighting a porn habit for much of my life that started when I was a kid till now.  I've stopped and restarted several times only to find myself back to the same guilt and shame cycle.  I know better and I take complete accountability for my actions.  I'm tired of making excuses and blaming everyone.  The low self esteem, stress release, and distorted view of masculinity have been drivers for this behavior.  I am a man of God and this behavior is creating a deep wedge between my calling and integrity. I stand in agreement with everyone on this forum and I pray for our collective strength to overcome with Gods help and our willingness to be the best people we can be!

I have a similar view of what a man is and porn helped me with that. I have learned that my idea of a man is so opposite of what a man really is and learned how weak I really am. I tried to be the guy in the porn movie making the woman scream and didn’t look at it for the acting it is, fake and is done that way to hook you. There is no closeness, no love, no connection between the people in the porn movie, just a fantasy. Porn does destroy and warp our views of how we should’ve as a man. Porn also progressed into further addiction. Mine progressed to prostitutes.

I need to get right with God. I have strayed from the path with compulsive behavior regarding porn. I have been living a double life to some degree and have minimized this affliction. I am here to rise up.

I came to this site back in April when my fiance found out I was sharing some private photos of her with others. It was all for a porn fix. Again, I have faultered with my compulsions and have cause more harm. I hopw she can forgive me. I need to connect with God and get back on the right path.

We are all made in the image of God, and none of us are perfect.
When we stop attempting to control our lives, control the human addictions of lust, and turn it all over to God, then we have the strength to see our weakness. We can stand tall with our eyes open and proud because know we are truly living our Gods design and purpose for us.
Man is weak, vain, and crippled by the world, when we live in it we continue to harm ourselves, hurt those we love including ourselves and God.
Only when we are rigorously honest with ourselves and God, can we be more of the best version of ourselves that we can be and the real person we are meant to be.
God does not tell us to ignore the beauty he has placed on this planet but he does tell us to not lust after them, When we lust after them we are not living as we should,
When we see our friends, coworkers, neighbors, doing wrong, instead of joining them to be accepted and valued, we have to see it for what it is and pray for them and let them know in a loving kingdom way that that is not our path.

I pray that God allows us to hear him, see him and live as he designed us, with his destiny and purpose for us.

Always continue to hope and try even when you fall into temptation. You will only lose if you decide to give up and stop trying to overcome.
