Sexual addiction, also sometimes called sexual compulsion, is a form of psychological addiction to sexual intercourse and other sexual behavior.
Addictions that lead to excitement are so very hard to over come!
I have been married for almost 16 years and have 2 wonderful teenagers and a very loving and supporting husband. (Especially after everything I have done to him. )
I have always been a flirt and into excitement and trouble. Then I settled down, because I always had a goal to be married and have children. Do I regret it no, but do I struggle with it yes.
Since the very beginning of my relationship with my husband, I have lied and lied and cheated and lied again. I have managed to keep this all a secret and hidden until the spring of 2014 when I was caught.
I was over my head in craziness and knee deep in the quick sand in trouble. I was sexting, and emailing and meeting strangers and ex's and even other women to have a fwb (friends with benefits) relationship. Luckily I did not catch anything.
To this day my kids still do not know. (Or at least I think they don't).
I am very devistated that I let myself go so very far. I am very remorseful for what I did. I love my husband and kids with all my heart and am a christian. So why I ask myself? Why and how did I do such shameful things?
What happened when I got caught?
Did I stop? No, not right away. I got caught 3 times total.
No, my husband did not leave me and he did not stop having sex with me.... strange I ask? Yes, but why? I still can't figure it out?
When did I realize I had a sex addiction? December 2014 when I joined a Sex Addicts 12 step program.
Fast Forward to today:
Am I still married? Yes and we are ldoing ok. It is going to be a very long road, but it will be well worth it.
AAre there still struggles? Hell YES. This week has been horrible. The triggers are running hi...
Still sober? As of now, yes! Sober for 7 months.

Although 12 Step is a great program for this addiction, it doesn't address the underpinnings of the addiction. Finding out why and learning to cope with triggers is vital. You may want to eventually go into therapy alone and with your husband.
