so after taking a new vow of sobriety and honesty with my spouse I'm trying to do this diffrently. Sobriety for me is no contact or sexual behavior with women other then my girlfriend.

ive disable apps/and texting on my phone today . I will be getting rid of internet if that poses a problem it currently doesn't. I'm really excited for this peace of mind and helpful boost to keeping me sober. It's hard to sext people without texting.

but telling all my loved ones- friends and family no one has been that supportive. They see it as a hindrance and lack of contact where as I see it as a blessing. My girlfriend is on board but she feels she is "policing" me since the cellphone is on her account so she has to disable the texting.

im was hoping anyone had some insist or supportive messages that could help get me through everyone else's negativity.

For me personally, sobriety has to come first - so, if that means an inability to text your friends and family, so be it.

That being said, in my experience, as an addict........my sneaky little addicted brain would try a way around it or explore other avenues....

I am fully sold on 12 step. By following 12 step and sticking to it on a daily basis, it provides me freedom from temptation. I still have filters and an accountability app on my phone because any extra layer of protection is a good thing. But in the end, no filter or app could keep me from acting out. I'd always find another way. 12 step has given me freedom.

You need to do what you need to do in order to recover from this addiction. Boundaries are different for everyone. Some addicts go back to the old cell phones, getting rid of the internet isnt a bad idea. (actually rehab facilities suggest no tv or internet for 90 days) Everyone has different issues and who cares what others think. This is about you getting healthy. GOOD for you

Thanks for the support. Ya I've begun the 12 steps. I've found that Ice dipped into a lot of them over the last year of therapy. Im very grateful for that.

I do therapy once a week and have started 3-4 phone meetings a week. Will be switching to atleast 1 in face meeting soon.
