I am new here and I want to thank you all for the courage I know it takes to admit this.
I am a sex and love addict. I am addicted to the drama of pursuing a love relationship that includes sex with someone who is not necessarily right for me. It is a way to keep the focus off my life and my recovery from multiple issues... alcoholism, pot addiction, codependency, love addiction. I want to be able to pursue my goals and dreams and stop getting caught up in the cycle of obsession and acting out.

I know exactly how u feel, I'm addicted to love and sex and I'm in the process of trying to control it all. I felt very ashamed of it at first but I know where it comes from, it's just a coping mechanism that has been ingrained from an early age, it's just going to take a bit of work to un..ingrain it!

Welcome to DS. You're on the right track, admitting you have an addictionis the first step in healing. I know that a lot of people here on DS have helped me through a lot of my problems so i'm sure that you will receive a lot of support through this site.

Just take it one day at a time and you'll get to the life and reach the goals that you're dreaming of.
