I was never abused, two parents but never taught about sex as a child. So....Since 16-17 I would masterbate and expose myself to strangers....daily. For at least 20 years I've done this, I've been arrested and have a record for exhibitionism and lewd behavior while in college. Now 48 I still have sexual lust but don't expose myself, over the years I've found it hard to connect with women so I've entertain prostitution since 17 (just to watch me - no sex), many times driving a full tank of gas to empty seeking someone to see me expose myself, I've had over 15 cars because of the crusing wear. I am tired of this curse. Divorced, fired from job for my background over the years. Now i'm stable with employment but fear relationships with women. This is a rambling email, I feel this curse is strong and I will not have kids to pass it on. That's how I feel.

Just typing this helps, it's no way I would say this in person.

Any thoughts or help is appreciated.

From what i have researched dealing with my husbands sex addiction the exhibitionism is classed in stage 2 or 3 of sex addiction. Because it is illegal. This addiction is not a curse but can for sure, as it sounds like it already has, destroy marriages, jobs, and your life is spiraling out of control and it is consuming you. My suggestion would first be to go to trained sex addiction therapist. You have to discover why you are feeling the need to expose yourself. (including when you pay to do this) Most sex addicts have issues with intimacy, fear of rejection, resentment issues and even sexual anorexia. Secondly, i would say you would really get alot of help at a 12 step meeting, SAA or SA ..there you will meet other addicts that are struggling or in full recovery. The first meeting will be the hardest, often you get email them and have a member meet you before the meeting to help with that uneasy transition. My husbands addiction started with porn, then to online voyerisum, until he started sharing naked pics of himself and had web cam sex as well. His addiction was esculating as the addiction gets stronger you need more and more to get that same feeling. He is now over 4 years sober, in recovery.

Tony, at the end of what you wrote, you said "just typing this helps".
That's very true and often used by therapists for their patients. It doesn't really matter if you write in a journal for others to read. Or for your eyes only. Its Very Therapeutic to put words down. To tell your story.
The site is set up for journal writing. You can make more than one. Private or not.... Its up to you.
