Hi everyone

New to this but really hoping this will help

Guessing like many others that are on here im come to facing my own reality that i have a problem.

I have always watched and thought about porn in many formats.i know looking at porn is normal but now its got to the point where it is literally everyday. Ive tried to come away from it but it doesnt last long i find myself straight back on it.

But now it has taken a step further not long after lockdown i recently started using money on camgirl sites and not realising how much i have spent. I dont know whether i did this out of boredom or a need for social interaction due to being in a lockdown.

But today my partner confronted me about it and my response was to lie she then presented me with the evidence. Which then i owned up to the websites.

After i installed a website blocker and added the websites on to it and asked her to create a password so i cant access them.

After a hour of sitting in silence and beating myself up i started asking myself why i done this but i couldnt give myself a answer so i have ended up here.

I love my partner very much and i dont want to hurt her again. I never physically cheated on her but the camgirls now feels like i did.

Now i dont know if i should tell my partner that i have a problem.

And also how she would react to it.

you will have to learn why you are turning to porn.
What you are running from.
it will suck and hurt and be painful once you truly learn about yourself, but that is part of growing and healing.
Being able to face your emotions and staying present instead of blocking out the feeling.

I feel for you. It’s painful to make choices that are harmful to you emotionally and cause you to feel guilt. Your addiction is hard to stop, but you can do it. It’s a good sign that you are on here seeking support. I think you’re in the right place, especially knowing that others have made the same mistakes you have. Remind yourself that you are human, that you have made some bad choices, but you can forgive yourself and let go of the wrong that you have done. The key is to then substitute something that is beneficial to you, like this group. You can come here anytime and share your feelings and struggles and we will listen. I’m in a very similar situation so I know the feelings you are going through. It’s hard to think of the reasons why I do this and the trauma I brought to my partner, I seem to always go in a loop and it’s a loop I wish to break. I never want to hurt my partner again, it’s just a matter of finding the strength to break the loop
