Hi addictfree-01, you've come to the right place. What have you tried so far to help you quit?

So sorry you are dealing with this. I was your age when I had just gotten married and we got "free" stations and we started watching. I ended up getting addicted to it...more than my hubby did. It was unhealthy and NOT good at all. Anytime something takes over your life like this...it isn't good. Have sought out help yet? Counselor? Confessed out loud to anyone? Getting support from someone you trust really can be a first great start...someone that you agree can hold you accountable. I have some great resources I'd love to share. I just watched a really great documentary on Youtube...and it really spoke about sometimes the shame we feel when we watch this...but we get that quick fix that makes us feel good and how damaging the cycle is. Anyways...would love to chat if you want or give support. You can take this on...and get beyond it!!

Hi jjandy thanks for sharing your story, it gives me a lot of hope that I can also leave this sickening habit behind. From where I am there is no atmosphere to discuss such sort of topics, and definitely no response is what u are going to get. I did not confess my problem to anyone but once I tried to tell about the same to one of my brother (cousin), and we somehow latter grew apart and distant. I do feel ashamed because of this habit but somehow I don't seem to stop doing it. its like it has become a regular part of my schedule, I do try to resist it as much as I can but I get so agitated and so distracted sometimes that I can't even focus on my studies. I do try and curb this habit by giving myself some challenges that at least for next 2 days or next 3 days I am not going to do this, sometimes I do succeed but sometimes I do fail. its like there are some triggers that make me so week and powerless.

writing it out does makes me feel a bit better. thanks for this jjandy, I would like to chat and love your support through this crisis, thanks for the encouraging words.
